The library has a fantastic crew of student workers, four of whom are graduating this spring. We’ll be spotlighting our seniors on the blog over the course of the semester.

Whitley is from Eagle River, WI, although she was born in England. Her major is Social Work with a minor in Psychology. Whitley’s hobbies include geocaching (adult treasure hunting). Check it out at: She also enjoys exchanging postcards from all over the United States and foreign countries.
Whitley has worked at a respite camp for children with disabilities, interned with Big Brothers Big Sisters and she went to Italy on a Franciscan Spirituality trip.
When we asked Whitley what she liked most about working in the library, her first response was “she liked the beeping” (books being checked out and checked in). After we had a good laugh about that, she said it really was all about the people. She enjoyed the interaction with the people every day.
Whitley’s future plans are to stay in La Crosse and find a job here. She wants to pursue her Masters in Social Work at a later time. She is currently an AmeriCorps member serving at Easter Deals Disability Services in Wisconsin Dells.
We have enjoyed Whitley’s “high energy” and enthusiastic zest for life which enhances our welcoming atmosphere in the library. Thank you, Whitley and good luck to you!

Thank you for all of your great work Whitley!
