Like GIFs? Of course you do, we’re on the internet. NYPL (New York Public Library) Labs has just released an awesome new tool called Stereogranimator that lets you turn stereographs into animated GIFs! Its a really cool tool and another way libraries can be more than books.

Calling all crafters!

Come to the library to knit, crochet, weave or embroider (or do anything else crafty that you like). Bring a sack lunch and your current project. Any crafting project is welcome (even non-fiber!). Beginners are also welcome.

Wikipedia (and many other websites) will be going dark tomorrow to protest SOPA (Stop Online Privacy Act) and PIPA (Protect IP Act). Wordpress, which hosts this blog, will also be going dark as will Imgur (an image hosting site), Reddit, BoingBoing, Mozilla, TwitPic and thousands of others.
